Mr. Syed Yawar Mehdi, FRCS

Mr. Mehdi is presently working in NHS as Consultant Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeon, beside practising in private as a Consultant Plastic & Cosmetic Surgeon.

He has more than 20 years experience in all aspects of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery with special interest in Aesthetic Surgery performing procedures including Blepharoplasty, Otoplasty, Face & neck lift, chin implant, Breast Implants, Breasts reduction & mastopexy, gynaecomastia, Abdominoplasty, Liposuction & other uplift procedures post Bariatric surgery etc. In NHS his specialty is Skin surgery including minor procedures eg. Moles & Lipomas excisions to flaps reconstruction post skin cancer excisions including post MOHs.

Dr. Mehdi after graduating in Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) 1988 from Dow University of Medical Sciences, Pakistan acquired Fellowship in Surgery from Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1995 while working & training in reputable hospitals in Dublin up til  2000. Then he moved to the UK as a senior fellow and was upgraded to Associate Specialist in Plastic Surgery working independently in Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle Uppn Tyne from 2002 to 2007.  Mr Mehdi moved to Pakistan in July 2007 on offer of the position of Ass. Prof & Head of Plastic Surgery Dept in Aga Khan University Hospital returning to the UK in 2013 as a Senior Plastic Surgeon in St. Georges University hospital, London.

Mr. Mehdi has published in reputable International journals, demonstrating his Innovative techniques in reconstructive and hand surgery eg. Modified Post Arm Flap for Axillary Hidradenitis in Annals of Plastic Surgery (2021) & Repair of extensor tensor using Mitek mini anchor in European Journal of Plastic Surgery (2011).
