How does Laser Hair Removal work?
Laser treatment affects hair in the active growth phase (anagen stage). The laser beam is made up of precisely controlled pulses of energy which are absorbed by the melanin or pigment in the hair and reaches into the active hair follicles that lie beneath the skin. The energy heats the hair, right down to the bottom of the root, safely destroying it without damaging surrounding tissue or skin.

How to prepare for laser hair removal
A patch test will be required and performed a minimum of 24hrs before your treatment.
You should shave the areas being treated a minimum of 8hrs before.
It is advised that you be careful with sun exposure and self tanning products a few days before and after treatment.
It is possible that you will need to stop taking certain medications to avoid adverse effects, so be honest about everything you take.
After treating an area, hairs fall out within 10 to 14 days. Using a mild sugar scrub in the shower on the tenth day will help exfoliate skin and remove hair.
Is it painful?
Due to advancements in technology, laser hair removal has become relatively pain free. Most people find they feel a small heat build-up, with an occasional ‘pinching’ feeling.
How many sessions will I need?
Every person is different, however normally a 60-70% reduction in hair after an average of 6-8 sessions. The hair will also be lighter and take longer to grow back.
